As it’s recorded in esoteric Buddhism, when the bodhisattva Guan Yin practiced Buddhism, she listened to Tathagata Buddha’s preach about the incantation of the great mercy and got very delighted. She thus split her arms and eyes into a thousand arms and a thousand eyes, and pledged a commitment to benefit all living beings by bringing them safety and happiness. A thousand arms represent her protection of all living beings while a thousand eyes stand for observation of the whole world.

根据佛教密宗经典记载，观音菩萨在修行时，听如来宣讲大悲咒，心生欢喜，于是发下誓言，让自己身上生出千手千眼，从而利益安乐一切众生，千手表示遍护世间，千眼表示遍观世界。

Adopting technologies such as human body tracking and virtual imaging, the exhibition displays the mural of the thousand-hand Bodhisattva using spatial imaging techniques to depict her image of saving all beings from suffering with a thousand hands and a thousand eyes.

展览运用人体追踪、虚拟成像等技术，以空间成像的方式展示千手观音壁画，描绘了观世音菩萨以千手千眼普济众生的形象。
